The focus of this IPL preview is my Rajasthan Royals vs Delhi Capitals match prediction. The two sides will face off in game 11 of IPL 2023 on 8 April. These are two strong teams with the will to win. The stakes cannot be higher, as every win will count in a team’s bid to reach the playoffs.
Rajasthan Royals had a better campaign than Delhi Capitals in IPL 2022. They not only got to the playoffs but finished runners up after losing to Gujarat Titans in the finals.
Given the strengths of the two sides, the upcoming IPL game will attract other sports enthusiasts as well.
In this Rajasthan Royals vs Delhi Capitals match prediction, I believe that home advantage will see Rajasthan Royals get over the line.

RR vs DC: Prediction & Tips
I have made many predictions in this RR vs DC match prediction article. I have named the players I expect to shine in this game. I have made my best IPL toss prediction. I have also named the batter and bowler who will score most runs and grab most wickets respectively. I also name the batter I think will smote the most six-hits and the bowler who will be the most frugal. I have based my observations on cricket expertise gathered from watching the game for many years. My intention is to help punters with my IPL predictions 2023 with their betting decisions at the best IPL betting sites.
RR Team Review
The RR innings will be opened by Buttler and Jaiswal, followed by skipper Samson in the third spot. Padikkal, Hetmyer, and Ryan Parag will follow in turn. Holder and Ashwin in at numbers seven and eight will give the side a couple of finishing options. Prasidh Krishna, Chahal and Boult will be the other three in the eleven.
This side has a strong batting as can be seen. The bowling unit is a great combination of experience and variety. It features off-spin, leg break googly, left arm pace, right arm pace, and a third seaming choice.
Below is their latest Performance:
DC Team Review
Shaw and Warner will begin the innings for DC. Sarfaraz Khan, Yash Dhull and Lalit Yadav will follow in turn. Axar Patel and Marsh provide DC with two finishing options. The bowlers in the line up are Kuldeep Yadav, Nortje, Sakariya and Ngidi.
The current batting will more than compensate for Pant’s absence this season. While Shaw and Warner are known commodities, an in-form Sarfaraz khan has shown that he can go to the next level. DC have batting depth right up to Axar Patel.
Like RR, DC have experience and variety in the bowling line up. Nortje and Ngidi are old warhorses, as are Axar Patel and Kuldeep Yadav. Chetan Sakariya has fulfilled the promise he showed when he made his IPL debut a few seasons ago.
Below is their latest Performance:
RR vs DC Head-to-head
The two sides have met 28 times in the past. Interestingly, they share the h2h comparison, with 14 wins each.
RR vs DC Last Meeting
The sides last met on 11 May 2022 at Navi Mumbai’s DY Patil Stadium. DC won the toss and elected to field. Royals lost the wicket of Jos Buttler in the third over, but thereafter a couple of good partnerships took them to 3/107, when Ashwin got out in the 15th over.
Devdutt Padikkal tried to keep the momentum going, but he received little support from the remaining batsmen.
In the event, RR were restricted to 160/6 six in their allotted overs. Ashwin, who scored 50 from 38 balls, was RR’s top scorer. Sakaria, Nortje and Marsh took two wickets each for DC.
DC’s chase got off to a bad start when they lost the wicket of opener Srikar Bharat on the second ball of the innings. Thereafter a 144-run stand between Mitchell Marsh and David Warner took them to the verge of victory. Marsh was out in the 18th over. As it transpired, DC won with 11 balls and eight wickets to spare.
For DC, Mitchell Marsh made the top score of 89 from just 62 balls. Warner remained not out on 52 from 41 balls. For RR, Boult and Chahal took one wicket each.
Players to look out for
Among the RR batters, the trio of Buttler, Jaiswal and Samson are all match winners in their own right. Chahal and Boult count among the most experienced and accomplished bowlers in the IPL. I also consider Holder as an unsung hero who can perform match-winning turns with bat as well as ball.
For DC the go-to players will be their explosive batting trio of Jaiswal, Buttler and Samson. Chahal is their bowler likely to make the greatest impact.
Shaw and Sarfaraz have been in great form in domestic cricket. That’s a great sign for DC who will expect these young men to take charge in IPL 2023. More than the batters, DC will expect their bowlers , Axar Patel, Ngidi, Nortje and Kuldeep Yadav, to provide the spark this season.
Toss prediction
RR who lost the toss in their last game versus DC will make amends this time by winning it in the upcoming game.
Highest scorer
I expect RR opener Jos Buttler to top score. In the recent T20 World Cup he proved that his orange cap of IPL 2022 was no fluke.
Highest wicket taker
Chahal’s leg break googly bowling is likely to tilt the game in RR’s favour. The wily spinner has given evidence of his prowess for country and club alike.
Highest sixes hitter
Jos Buttler will not only hit the highest score of the game but will also register the most sixes.
Most economical bowler
I expect DC bowler Kuldeep Yadav to bowl the most economical spell. Like RR’s Chahal, Yadav is a wily customer.
Most catches
Given the brilliant seam options at his disposal, RR skipper and keeper Sanju Samson is likely to take the most catches behind the stumps in his side’s upcoming IPL match versus DC.
RR vs PBKS: Dream 11 Predictions
I finish my RR vs DC match prediction analysis with my ‘today IPL match dream 11 team’:
- Wicket keepers: Samson, Buttler
- Batsmen: Jaiswal, Padikkal, Shaw
- All-rounders: Marsh, Axar Patel, Holder
- Bowlers: Chahal, Boult, Kuldeep Yadav
